Dulce looked on, aghast at Stevie’s blatant lack of integrity.
Yet, wary of provoking Matthew’s wrath, she opted for prudence.
“Mr. Clark, my dispute isn’t with Stella. I was acting under Stevie’s commands.”
“Silence!” Stevie exploded in anger.
“Stevie, you bastard! A true man would own his actions,” Dulce rebuked, abandoning all pretenses of respect.
